I know this is lazy of me, but I do not have the time to post a proper analysis of this yet. However, you need somewhere to discuss this without being labeled as “ABCers” or “UNC Blinders Wearing Homers With Your Head In The Sand”.
Here is the schedule for this weekend’s match-ups in the ACC. Put your predictions in the comments.
Louisville @ Syracuse
VA Tech @ UNC-CH
NC State @ Clemson
Wake Forest @ FSU
Miami @ GA Tech
Pitt @ UVA
Just thought this was a great picture of Thee OSU’s strength and conditioning coach with the epic takedown of a dumbarse fan who ran on the field. Looks like a rasslin’ move. The fan could also represent what happened to the three triangle football teams (and the US Ryder Cup team).
Florida State’s Carter-Finley Curse was in full effect for the first half of the game on Saturday, especially when NC State built a 24-7 lead. It looked like the Wolfpack was going to get another big win in Raleigh over FSU. Jamies Winston led the Seminoles to a second half comeback, finally winning 56-41.
Dave Doeren and Jimbo Fisher traded shots about faking injuries.
On one play Saturday, the guy walked off the field as slow as humanly possible and he was back in the game,” Doeren said at his weekly press conference, according to TheWolfpacker.com. “I get it, if they’re hurt, they’re hurt.”
Fisher appeared to be aware of the accusation when he was asked about it by the media on Monday.
“I accuse him of not knowing what he’s talking about,” Fisher said. “We did not fake injuries, no one fakes injuries. We’ll coach Florida State, he can coach North Carolina State.”
North Carolina’s lack of defense continued. After giving up 70 to ECU, Clemson scored 50 points, the Heels scored 35. Game Ova. In four games UNC opponents have scored 176 points.
Miami’s defense slowed down Duke in a rainstorm 22-10. Duke Johnson ran for 155 yards for the Hurricanes. It was only the second time in the past 36 games that Duke has been held to 10 points or less.

Welcome to the ACC, Notre Dame!
Unlike UNC, the Irish got some wins and a BCS Championship appearance out of their cheating… but similar UNC, they’re likely to end up with some vacated wins for their actions.
The ACC Kickoff was held in Greensboro and the always exciting and absolutely spot-on preseason voting took place. Defending National Champions Florida State are the overwhelming favorite to win the ACC for the third straight year. Heisman Trophy winner FSU quarterback Jameis Winston was also the major choice for preseason ACC Player of the Year. Winston recieved 99 votes, Clemson DE Vic Beasley was second with six. Here is the rest of the voting.
The Triangle teams all start the season on August 30. Duke hosts Elon, North Carolina opens at home against Liberty, and NC State is on the road at Georgia Southern.
One of the lone bright spots for the NC State football team this year was the play of one Shadrach Thornton. Unfortunately, the running back is once again facing legal issues. Already having one assault charge deferred back in June, Thornton could be in very hot water with a new sexual assault charge possibly pending. No details have been released in regards to the new investigation, but when the Po-Po arrived at his College Inn apartment they found weed in his room, as well as in the common area and in J.J. Jones room. Jones, who has already announced that he is transferring, also had a bottle of Naproxen, which is basically a prescription version of Aleve. Jones, however, was not the name on the label.
Based on the weed alone, you can bet your sweet ass that Thornton’s time at NC State is finished. He will absolutely be facing those charges from back in June now, and NC State is not the kind of institution that looks kindly on its players hitting or abusing women.
I’m not going to kill either guy for smoking dope. When you are on the football team though, and getting a free education (whether you are taking advantage of it or not) you just have to know better. While Thornton’s play on the field will be missed, this type of off-field shenanigans will not be. I have zero tolerance for anyone who lays a hand on a woman, and even less if there is any form of sexual assault involved. IF he is guilty, I hope he rots down Western Boulevard for a while.
Think Saban is regretting that field goal try?
oh yeah, and this.
2013 ACC Championship Game – Florida State vs Duke
Saturday at 8PM. FSU favored by 28.5
Michigan gambled and lost, I dont agree with the call to go for two.
North Carolina basketball, beat Louisville one week, lose to UAB the next.
Hey statefan, Auburn didnt win a game in their conference last year, look what happened a year later. Give Double D some time.
Busy weekend in sports as we head towards Turkey Day and the final regular season weekend of college football.
North Carolina beat Old Dominion 80-20. Both head coaches agreed to shorten the fourth quarter to 10 minutes, a modern mercy rule. Some were calling Fedora classless, dont know why, they had scout team players in and took a knee on a fourth and goal. Cant just stop playing. ( btw, Florida State and South Carolina also won by 60 or more points)
Duke beat Wake Forest 28-21. This sets up a big game vs North Carolina this weekend, they win and they will be in the ACC Championship Game vs Florida State.
Will Jameis Winston be able to play in the Championship Game, and a possible National Championship? We wont find out until after Thanksgiving.
East Carolina beat NC State in Raleigh 42-28. State fans had to endure the “Our State” chants again, and a billboard on Capital Blvd. Some statefans have called for that campaign to be retired.
Duke basketball escapes with a 91-90 win over Vermont. Coach K said they were “lucky to win”.
UNC basketball bounces back with two wins over the weekend, including a 93-84 win over defending champs and #3 ranked Louisville. Marcus Paige had a career high 32 points.
Carolina Panthers won their 7th game in a row, Manning cant beat Brady, Brian McCann to the Yankees, five years, $85 million.
UNC 34, Pitt 27 – Last year it was Gio Bernard who had a game winning punt return touchdown for North Carolina, this year, freshman Ryan Switzer’s second punt return touchdown of the game was the clincher on the road against Pitt. The game-winning 61-yard punt return came with about five minutes to play, after UNC had blown a 27-3 third quarter lead and Pitt had tied the game at 27.
Duke 48, Miami 30 – Duke took control of the ACC Coastal Division with an upset of the 24th ranked Hurricanes. The Blue Devils are 8-2 and have won six games in a row.
Boston College 38, NC State 21 – Andre Williams rushed for a BC record 339 yards and Boston College (6-4) became bowl eligible with the win over the Wolfpack.
Florida State 59, Syracuse 3 – Florida State are now officially the ACC Atlantic Division Champions. They continued to roll, as the second ranked team in the nation dominated Syracuse from the start. Jamies Winston didnt seem bothered by any off the field distractions from this past week.
Maryland 27, Virginia Tech 24 OT – Senior Day at Maryland and the Terps also became bowl eligible with the overtime win. The Hokies have lost three of their last four games.
These two teams play each other on Saturday. A combined 1-7 in the ACC.
Maybe they can get the Ohio State band to come down and perform at halftime.
