This is just all too good. After introducing Mark Gottfried as NC State’s new men’s basketball coach on Tuesday, Debbie Yow accused Gary Williams of interfering with the search. Now I had heard some rumblings about this but I was shocked that Yow came [...] Press Conference at 5PM at the Dale Center to announce NC State’s new basketball coach. Word on the Street…Mark Gottfried. Gottfried was the Head Coach at Alabama from 1998-2009. Gottfried’s Wiki page already has him listed as replacing Sidney Lowe at NC State. He was on Jim Harrick’s staff at UCLA with Steve Lavin and [...] With yesterday’s complete decimation of the NC State wish list for a head basketball coach, we are all left to wonder what, or who, will be next. Shaka Smart, staying at VCU (for a lot less money). Greg Marshall, staying at Wichita State. Mick Cronin, staying at Cincy. All within several hours of each other. [...] Shaka Smart doing the “Iron Man” drill at the Final Four. Looks like Shaka wont be doing this drill at the RBC Center anytime soon. The hot coach of the moment who led his team to an amazing run to the Final Four, has decided to stay at VCU. This coming from multiple sources….here….and [...] Craig here (Carlspackler to TSB fans) with some thoughts about Big East legend Jim Calhoun, the much-maligned, often cranky and common target of ire for many college hoops fans. (The latter characteristic being the most confusing for me. I thought people loved Archie Bunker? According to the “Mouth of the Midwest”, Harrison Barnes will announce that he will be returning to UNC next season. No word if this announcement will be made via Skype. State coaching search continues… According to everyone under the Sun, he will be announced in the next 48 hours. Things sure do get hot while I am sleeping. Mizzou either knows they are out of the Shaka Smart running, or simply think they have a diamond in the rough with Haith. Or they panicked. Judging by the fact that [...] Remember way back on the 29th or March when Dayton’s head coach, Brian Gregory, jumped ship to take the GA Tech job?
