With the news that RJOW has been released from his scholarship at UNC-R, I’d like to be the first of the Heel contingent to tip my cap to the close of great career. At first, everyone was surprised, if not shocked by the hire. No one expected Gottfried to be the guy. Anyone that says they did is not being intellectually honest. Not me, not Nino, not the guys at StateFansNation.com, PackPride.com, or any of the national media saw this coming. No-bah-dee. When NC State announced that Mark Gottfried was going to be their next head basketball coach, a lot of the initial reaction was “Who”? Now we know a little more about him and his coaching past but we at Thee Sports Blog wanted to find out more. Gottfried coached at Alabama for 11 years so we interviewed some Alabama basketball fans (yes they exist).
