Who is the ACC Coach of the Year

The post season awards will soon start coming out, and the debate has already begun on who will be (and/or should be) the ACC Coach of the Year.  Maryland’s Gary Williams overwhelmingly won his second COY last year.

This year, I think it comes down to three coaches. Roy Williams, Mike Kzyzewski, and [...]

Barnes leads Heels past Pack

75-63.

After a very ugly first half, in which he went 0-6, Harrison Barnes scored 14 points in the second half, including two put back dunks.  He led all scorers with 16.  John Henson added 15 rebounds and six blocks.  C.J. Leslie led State with 13 points.

In front of a sold out [...]

Devils Host Owls. Heels Visit Rival?

Since nobody in the ACC is any good aside from Duke and UNC and Duke only gets UNC twice in the regular season and they can’t play themselves; Duke gets an opportunity to play a ranked opponent as they welcome # 24 Temple (21-5) to Cameron Indoor to play their first game since literally getting ‘backed’ on to the top spot of the polls. But as we all know being #1 means zilch when you can make an argument for most teams in the top ten for the 1 spot.

UNC vs State open thread

UNC: 20-6 (10-2),   NC State: 14-12 (4-8). Its a rivalry game. Anything can happen.  State is looking to finish at least .500 in the ACC.  They are 10-3 at home this year.  North Carolina is going for its 10th straight win over State.

If you happen to be in Shanghai you can [...]

With his team trailing by a single point with 10:16 remaining the first half, Leader Who Also Coaches Basketball Michael Krzyzewski was whistled for a recent-memory-first technical foul during a regulation contest [...]

JJ gets ankles broken, slaps floor

Kirk Hinrich isn’t known for his mean crossover.  But he made JJ Redick look silly.  Redick is reduced to an ankle-breaking, flailing defender against Hinrich.  Insert your “Duke defense” jokes.

The best part of the clip is the “reenactment” of the event by Redick’s teammate Jameer Nelson.  Sorry, [...]

Spriiiiing!

Charlotte, North Carolina’s own Brooklyn Decker.  Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2011.  I should have learned to play tennis.

oh, and UNC won an ugly game over Wake.

Virgina Tech beat Maryland in a “Loser Leaves Town (or possibly misses the NCAAT) Match”.

Can NC State run the table? Clemson at the RBC tommorrow.

Tiger Woods Tees Up With US Serviceman

Wednesday, in Dubai, Tiger Woods teed it up with Lt. Col. Michael Rowells of the 401st Army Field Support Brigade stationed in Afghanistan.  The 47 year old father of four from Mississippi might not have played well on the course, but he had a great time with Tiger and called him a “class act” [...]
