There Must Have Been Some Magic…

Put a lid on your Haterade.

The Mrs. (Auburn, MA. ’99) and I were debating the Ballad of Les Miles earlier this eve when it occurred to us that his deal with the devil has to expire eventually. For her, the ideal lapse would begin this weekend against her beloved Good Tigers (he of [...]

Another Cool Dunk, This One Via gORSK

Via friend of THEE Blog gORSK

This kid, Eric Bishop, is jumping out of the damn gym.  Here is the story behind the picture as told by gORSK:

The story of this is great, if slightly politically incorrect.  It was halftime of a game in 1996 or early ’97 vs App State and the [...]

This is Just Cool

Check out John Williams, a 6’4″ senior forward from Raleigh, in UNC-Asheville’s impromptu dunk competition.  Dude hurdles 2 players.  Separately.  The first cat is 7’2″ center Sean Hobbs and the second guy is guard J.P. Primm.  Primm is only 6’1″.  Not very relevant to anything, but still pretty damn cool.

Old School Thursday

I was kind of at a loss as to what to write this week.  Next week writes itself but, believe it or not, coming up with something to write about every week isn’t easy.  I sat down at the computer, fired up Pandora, and started to write about my first skateboard.  I got about halfway [...]

MISSING!

Whereabouts unkown.

You could say, I’m a dreamer…

I am going to have to give this idea some more number crunching when I have time, but it seems to me that it is at least not impossible that Carolina and State could play a grudge re-match for the ACC Championship for the chance to represent the conference as its champion in the Orange [...]

Pack. Pirates. Dowdy-Ficklen. Saturday, High Noon

It’s a game Pirate fans crave to win and a game Wolfpack fans hope not to lose. That’s just the nature of a rivalry where one team wears the BCS shirt and the other is still sewing away hoping to make it fit one day.

N.C. State leads East Carolina 16-10 all-time in a [...]

Everything You Wanted to Know About the 2010 Association Season, or a Close Approximation Thereof

I am well aware that most people here on THEE Blog don’t pay any attention whatsoever to the NBA (and some of you that claim to are clearly liars; don’t worry, I won’t name names).  I have heard, and rejected, all of your reasons for not caring and I am here to give you some [...]

We Talkin’ bout Practice!

and here we go…

Friday at midnight the 2010-11 College Basketball season officially kicks off with the first team practices. “Midnight Madness” (which was started by Lefty Drisell).   These “practices” have now become televised spectacles for fans to get a first glimpse at their team.  All three triangle teams should be good, looking forward to [...]

The First Third NFL Report, Part 2

And we’re back for a second helping. Today’s focus is the NFC. That includes the reigning champs, the hometown boys, and MY team. It also encompasses the favorite teams of most people who grew up in the area, be it the Cowboys, the Falcons, or the ‘Skins. This edition may be a little more brutal [...]
